Scientists map the meaning of mid level clouds
More than 1,000 blackbirds fall out of Arkansas sky - there's speculation such events could be caused by flocks either being struck by lightning or being sucked by a strong updraft, frozen to death and then dropped back down many, many miles away (by which time of course they've thawed out). Storms are big, nasty things!
Earthquake shakes central Chile
Wind turbines less efficent than claimed and, just as happened last winter, wind farms becalmed just when needed most. But any fool could have predicted that - the coldest (and hottest) weather doesn't occur when it's windy! And guess when electricty demand is highest ....
