And once again the value of naval warships in non-combatant activities is shown after the New Zealand earthquake: Warships head to Kaikoura with Australian, Canadian and US vessels joining the evacuation effort. 


 

And there's a new Antarctic quest to find 'oldest ice' and get cores going back as much as 1.5 million years
