2nd February - Today's News: Slightly Stormy, Normal Winter Weather is NOT "Doris"

Thousands of homes left without power as storm hits Devon - but it's not "Doris" !!!!  Even if the Daily Telegraph (and most other newspapers over the past few days) imply it is.   It's only noticeably windy because we have had so little stormy weather this winter compared with normal.  At present there's no indication that the further windy weather forecast for later tomorrow will be named.

For real bad weather see these pictures from Norilsk where it's so windy people forced to move around on all-fours in atrocious conditions in Arctic city

Chances of seeing Aurora Borealis from UK 'may disappear' over the next few decades if, as predicted, solar activity continues to decline
