18th January - Today's News: Storm David/Friederike Hits Britain & NW Europe


Overnight and this morning more travel disruption as high winds and snow hit UK  - but it wasn't Storm Fionn, as some media still claim.  That affected Ireland on Tuesday night.   Whilst unnamed by the MetO, last night's storm - which seemed worse in Evesham than Storm Eleanor - has been dubbed David by the French.  And Friederike by the Germans ....  Meanwhile, as the storm moves into Europe, 'code red' storm halts Dutch trains and flights whilst trains cancelled in western Germany until further notice due to storm
